Last, but certainly not least, we must talk about clutter.
Clutter collects dust, it collects dirt, it is unsightly, it is
the past, it is remindful of things you need to do and it slows,
if not stops, the flow of energy. Need I say more? Willingness
to get down and dirty to start getting rid of clutter is the most
powerful ways to improve the flow of energy in your space. So,
Just Get Rid of It! I believe Just Getting Rid of It to be the
most influential aspect of creating a healthy and balanced space.
You will be glad you did.
After you've
completed the above recommendations, it is now time to have some
fun and see what shows up. As you implement these recommendations,
stay present to your life and environment and witness the changes
that start to show up in your life. You may call it coincidence,
I call it Feng Shui.
Are you
feeling tired? Are you stuck in the past? Do you feel congested?
Are you having a hard time losing weight? Do you procrastinate?
Do you feel like you carry around excess baggage? Do you feel
like you can't focus and are disorganized?
We are committed
to supporting a global campaign promoting the removal of 'stuff'
and clutter from our lives. Clutter and stuff block new ideas
and possibilities from coming into our lives. Clutter reflects
the past and if we continue to surround ourselves with the past,
it is difficult and challenging to create a new future! You need
to make room in your life for the situations and opportunities
which you would like to experience.
To many,
clutter is obvious - the unread magazines, the catalogues, the
"I'll get to it later" stacks of reading material, the stacks
of National Geographic which someone will surely pay good money
for and the "I don't know where to put it" stack. What may
not be obvious as clutter is the following list of familiars:
|
|
Clothes
that no longer fit |
|
|
Clothes
that were expensive but you don't like any more |
|
|
32
baseball caps you may wear some day |
|
|
Christmas
decorations which haven't seen a limb in 4 years |
|
|
Electrical
appliances or furniture that havent made it to repair yet
|
|
|
Gifts
you've received that you feel legally obligated to display |
|
|
Things
you have inherited |
|
|
Stuff
you used to like |
|
|
Exercise
equipment that was going to be the one to make the difference. |
Just
to name a few! Stuff is rampant in our lives and we are often
crippled by its abundance. Because energy rises, I often recommend
that clutter reduction start in the cellar. In removing the clutter,
we are clearing a path to receive the balanced energy of the earth.
Cellars and attics always tend to gather our 'out of sight, out
of mind' belongings. My advice when you are trying to decide -
attic or cellar - reconsider and just GET RID OF IT!
Be good
to yourself, honor your space and start to be in action in your
inner world. Eliminating the past and the old will make room for
an exciting and new future. Remember - your home is a mirror of
your life. Changing your space will make room for changes in your
life.
